A Little Bit About Me...

I graguated from Mary Gillen Montgomery High School in May of 2012 with an Honors Diploma. I passed all my classes with a C+ or higher. I have good basic math and elementary education skills. Like elementary Math, English, Reading, Vocabulary, Science, and Social Studies. I also have can help with pre algebra and algebra with the exception of some grahing skills in both algebra and pre algebra.

I have always had a passion for working with and teaching children. I tend to have a facilitator teaching style by focusing on student-centered learning and activities. I am aware of all different learning styles and gladly accommodate them when working with different children. I allow time for my students to be actively involved in their learning, to rehearse new learning, to reflect, to do something with their new learning, and to make concrete links between new and prior learning. A Little Bit About Me...

I'm a firm believer that all children are different, yet, all are capable of learning. It is the responsibility of the teacher/tutor to identify the specific learning style of the students they are responsible for. Once this has been established, there should be a lot of motivation from both, teacher/tutor and the student. I practice one-on-one and hands-on strategies with students so that they may feel at ease, and to relax as they learn, and then I gradually allow them to become more engaged on their own.
