A Little Bit About Me...

I have always had a passion for working with and teaching children. I tend to have a facilitator teaching style by focusing on student-centered learning and activities. I am aware of all different learning styles and gladly accommodate them when working with different children. I allow time for my students to be actively involved in their learning, to rehearse new learning, to reflect, to do something with their new learning, and to make concrete links between new and prior learning. I actually believe that having the ability to teach is a gift, and that Learning occurs from a variety of experiences and explorations. I generally use a teacher-centered approach to teaching; however, there are other times that I prefer to use a learner-centered approach as to meet the needs of my students and their learning styles.
