I truly enjoy teaching others, as I have worked as a mentor in engineering camps and in the freshman dormitories at Arizona State University, as well as worked as a residenial assistant in the freshman dormitories. I have taught internship classes and tutored statistics at the University level. I have tutored mathematics from elementary to calculus at a junior college. Working with such a diverse population of students ranging from grades 3-12, I have learned that each child processes information in different ways. A Little Bit About Me...

Just telling a child how to do a problem is not effective. I believe a teacher needs to explain the logic and reasoning behind solving certain problems certain ways. Knowing this can help the child discover what works specifically to him/her. If a child learns to reason for his/her self, they gain the ability to be lifetime learners. My hope is, that instead of dreading school they gain confidence in their abilities to figure things out, and therefore find joy in learning. Above all it is important to listen to the kids, stay positive, and never show frustration.
