My preferred method of teaching is hands-on, through real experiments. Unfortunately, experiments cannot always be done, so I use lots of illustrations and age-appropriate analogies that are easy to relate to. Many times students are convinced that science is a subject too difficult to conquer, that they must just survive it, but science is all around us. I strive for that "a-ha" moment when a student realizes that all biological and physiological processes are interrelated and that the trick to understanding science is to build on previously learned concepts. I believe that teaching solid fundamentals and relating more difficult topics to already learned information is key to helping students thoroughly understand the subject.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have a B.S. in Physics with a minor in Mathematics.I am a very experienced private math tutor. During my 2nd undergraduate year at TSU, I began to teach physics labs. Initially,I taught "general" physics 1 and 2 lab sections,(those for science majors; excluduing engineering and physics majors). I was assigned multiple labs each semester thereafter, until my own graduation.Senior year, I was assigned the calculus based labs. The department also paid me to do tutoring for general physics.
Every person learns a bit differently. Personally, I find that an individual’s feeling and attitude about subjects such as mathematics and physics can greatly impact a student's success than any other factor.I aspire to help students see how fun (and actually quite addictive) math and mathematical sciences really are.
