As a former computer instructor, I can't tell you how much I miss teaching. Teaching was the one career in my life where I felt completely fulfilled. I truly love sharing my knowledge and being able to teach others. In addition to teaching, I am also a lifelong student. I have a Bachelors Degree in Graphic Design, an Associates Degree in Website Design and I am working towards an Associates Degree in Computer Programming. A Little Bit About Me...

My beliefs are that all children can learn, however, they must learn at their own pace and in their own way. This may mean being extremely patient and empathetic, not sympathetic, to their needs and using their strengths to build confidence while using their weaknesses to set goals. Blooms taxonomy is essential to use for setting standards and assessment of student learning. I apply this to my teaching methods as much as possible along with using hands on experiences to build student interest. I am available evenings and weekends for tutoring. I love teaching and everything about it. I believe that anyone can tell you about a subject area, but I believe it takes a special person to be able to teach it to students. Not every student learns the same way. I like to include several different teaching styles to help every student have success. I was a peer tutor in high school for English and Spanish. I also tutored children in Hebrew at a local temple. In addition, I volunteered as a tutor for underprivileged children in Chicago in all areas: Spelling, Reading, Writing, Math, Language, etc. for grades K-8.
I love to work with children of all ages and genders. I have worked with children who have learning disabilities, physical disabilities as well as children of all ages, races, and genders. I attempt to make learning as fun and relevant to the child as possible as every child has varying levels of understanding and concentrations. I am extremely patient and can handle anything. I like to relate learning to childrens' lives (make it about basketball if the boy likes basketball, or about chocolate if the girl likes chocolate).
