My comments on tutoring SAT - Math : I specialize in math and science preparation. The first thing I do is find out the strong/weak areas of the student and focus on the areas that need the most improvement. I also use sample tests and test questions.

Adjusts accordingly with the needs of the student.
-High school science teacher for 2 years. -Tutor for 5 years (1.5 years were full-time at an alternatve school and the rest has been with multiple students at a variety of locations). -Summer science camp working with elementary students for 2 consecutive years. -Volunteer work at multiple schools. -Helping my own kids succeed in their education.

I gained a B.S. degree from Western Michigan University in Math and Physics in April of 07’, and went back to school completing a teacher certification program in April of 09’ at Western Governors University. I currently have EX certification (Secondary Ed. Math) and anticipated DE (Secondary Ed. Physical Science, Physics) certification after this fall. A Little Bit About Me...

I began officially tutoring four years ago, starting up a private tutoring business. Through it, I have taught ages 5 through 55 in nearly all subjects, including mathematics, science, physics, ACT, and English. I also have tutored publicly at Oakland University for one year, where I earned my tutoring certification (level 1).
My passion is in watching others to succeed, and I am willing to change my own methods to make that happen. Thus, my tutoring style depends almost entirely on the student as I have found that the most common reason a tutor is needed is that the student's learning style does not match with the teacher's teaching style.
