I started to learn this language six years ago because my little cousin is deaf. I also worked in a deaf office for alittle where all you did was sigh. I can adapt to any style needed. My experience started when I was seven years old with the abc' s in asl. Then in high school I found out my cousin was born deaf so I started to learn even more. I would stay up all night with people on google the sign so I could learn the language. I also worked for deaf access services or DAS for short. That place was where deaf people could come and asked for interpreters for there needs. In college ( still in ) I took asl 1 and 2. However the school dose not teach more that that I'm looking as other schools it go to for learning more. I am very patient and detailed teacher. I go step by step when trying to teach a child how to do something. I don't skip steps. If they still don't understand, I don't go on to the next part of the lesson. I make sure they know and understand how to do the first part before I go onto the second part. Also I make things as simple as possible, complexing a subject doesn't do any good when it comes to teaching. I worked as an assistant preschool teacher for a little over 2 years.I worked with two year olds mostly, but the children ranged from infants to K level.
