Experience Summary
I graduated with a BS in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. During my college experience at the University of Arizona, I have participated in two programs that allowed me to teach a wide variety of students of different backgrounds and different ages. I have worked with children as young as four years to 16 years of age. I taught Science-based lessons (Entomology and Marine Discovery). Also,I have tutored high school students in English and different levels of Math. Furthermore, I have an interest in English and literature as well: I have been on a Publications staff for about three years, and was also the youngest editor of the school for about two years. I am eager to help students of all ages and backgrounds.
Teaching Style
I have had experience teaching that is inquiry-based but have also taught in a more factual style with lecture. I believe that each student has a different style of learning, and I am more than willing to adapt to the child. It is crucial for students to understand all the fundamentals of education, so that higher levels (college) of education will be obtained. I always make sure the student understands the material every step of the way so that they will not fall behind. I also believe that the student must take what they learn and apply it. I also believe that by excelling in certain areas of school and improving, this will give a higher confidence to the students that will be apparent in all areas of school.
