I made sure the basics are solid first. I feel that anatomy and clear understanding of the body and how it works is pivotal to success in dance. I am all about the details.
I have taught private lessons for a year, while also teaching ballet, modern, and jazz in studios. I also led dance class at a charter school for a year twice a week. Each person is different and as a tutor one has to be very empathic, patient, and understanding. By knowing the child you're working with and understanding their way of learning, you can adjust your methods to accommodate them, that way being more effective.
