A Little Bit About Me...

As I suffered through my younger years with Attention Deficit Disorder, I feel that it is extremely important to appeal to almost all of the senses when teaching. As for myself, I am definitely a visual learner, so I feel that visual aids are important. I am a big fan of hand outs in full color. You will often find me drawing a picture on the board. I feel it is important to hear it and see it, and if you can, touch it. Another important teaching style I implement, is watching my students and making sure they know how to do it. Going around and walking each student through the process and asking them to do what I did really confirms that the student understands what I have taught them.

I am a highly dedicated individual with an Architectural and Engineering Background. I have an Associate of Science in Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering. I have high levels of training in Math and Science. I have always worked with the public including both adults and children. I have a 10-year-old son with ADD. I have been tutoring him from kindergarden to present. He is now in fifth grade and maintains A's and B's. Even though he attends public school, He and I have to work many hours daily to keep him at his full potential.
