Most of my experience stems from my Bachelor of Arts degree at Wartburg College, Waverly, IA. As a Biology major, I have a good background in Life Sciences and Math. I have several study techniques that helped me succeed in college, as well as my current career as a Scientist Integrated DNA technologies in Coralville, IA. Some of my past experiences include working at a summer camp for two years as well as two years in an Emergency Room at a small hospital. I have learned to change and adapt to the needs of the person I am assisting and feel that, as a tutor, this could be a valuable asset.

I feel I have a unique teaching style. Because I have tutored students from sophomore in high school to sophomore in college, I have learned to tailor my teaching style to each specific student. For instance, I have used mnemonics, assignment homework assignments, and suggested drawing diagrams or rewriting notes to help students learn. Additionally, I am a highly dedicated individual and will not ever give up or quit on any student who wants to learn. I also believe it is important to develop a relationship with the student to provide a foundation of trust. As a graduate student at the University of Maryland, I taught Russian 101 to undergraduate students for two semesters. I also taught Russian 101 at the University of Virginia for two semesters as a teacher’s assistant. I taught English as a Second Language through Black Hawk College for two semesters, and I taught infants and toddlers at Best Beginnings preschool and child care center for 2 years and 5 months. I have earned a bachelor's degree in Russian Language and Literature, a master's degree in Russian Linguistics, a second master's degree in Russian Language and Literature, a certificate in Arabic Language, and an associate's degree in Elementary Education.
