EXCELLENT EDUCATOR!!!

My teaching and classroom management style is very authoritative. I like to set clear and concise classroom rules and expectations. Teachers should take time to set rules in a visible place for students, review them daily, and have consequences when the rules are not followed. However, students will be acknowledged for doing the right thing through classroom recognition or a prize. Students should have a set routine each day. This will allow them to know and understand what to expect with the classroom. If the routine has to be changed, this is explained ahead of time and students are guided into the transition. This will alleviate discipline problems.

In college I assisted with my church youth group and led classes approximately once a month for two years. During 2010 I volunteered with a Kindergarten class. I assisted the students with in-class assignments in writing and math. I hold a bachelors degree in accounting with a minor in vocal performance. I also studied German during this time. I have completed 17.5 semester hours towards a masters degree in liberal studies with a focus in international business and German. My greatest enjoyment in teaching is when a student ‘discovers’ their ability to overcome their negative self belief. I guide students through their learning process with gentle encouragement and patience. I have over five years experience working for a non-profit, child caring institute for DFCS and DJJ children. I have worked directly with the children in managing behaviors and I have worked indirectly in creating individualized treatment plans, assessments, and behavior modifications.
