Vocals is one of my top subjects! I have a Masters in Music Education/Vocal Music. I have taught vocal technuques, correct posture, proper breathung for over 25 years ranging from ages P-12 as well as adults.

I have a Masters of Music Education with a concentration in Vocal Music from Alabama State University. I was the first recipient of the Theodore Pressor Award for Excellence and I graduated with top honors.I taught Vocal/ Choral Music for over 15 years in the public school systems as well as private lessons. I also have extensive experience in Theatre Arts/Drama with both teaching and acting.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have been playing piano for almost thirteen years now. I have lots of experience tutoring and working with children in day camps, day cares, and overnight summer camps. When I was in 7th and 8th grade I participated in America Reads where I helped teach elementary children how to read. In college I assisted with my church youth group and led classes approximately once a month for two years. During 2010 I volunteered with a Kindergarten class. I assisted the students with in-class assignments in writing and math. I hold a bachelors degree in accounting with a minor in vocal performance. I also studied German during this time. I have completed 17.5 semester hours towards a masters degree in liberal studies with a focus in international business and German. I am currently working on my MBA and plan to complete it in December of 2012.

My experiences have been varied. I taught Family and Consumer Science for two years. Life experiences broadened my world view and I obtained a master's degree. My experiences include working in a governor’s office, years of substitute teaching several subjects in grades 3-12, and working as an administrative assistant. I later was a school counselor in a K-12 system and then did community counseling and owned a counseling center. Specific skills required for these varied positions include excellent English, business and financial management, positive communication skills, life skills, knowledge about physical and mental health, and biological sciences.
