While working on my Management MBA in Largo, FL I was elected head of the English Learning Center, and held this position for two years. I have worn many hats and done many things that all apply to the classroom and teaching young people. I believe that education is the key to life and living. But a person has to believe they can do it first and I believe everyone can learn and should be given the opportunity I ask a lot of questions to get the students thinking. I believe in teaching young people and the adults I have worked with to think critically fist. Then I work with them on being able to articulate and write their ideas down...subject matter follows naturally if they have the confidence and can just think for themselves not just spit back facts and what others want to hear. In high school and all even through college math had always been my hardest subject. My second year in college I had a math professor that had a different approach to teaching math and for the first time in my life I finally understood math! I understand that any child can run into problems with schoolwork. I try to find out why the child is having a problem before trying to help them. Did he miss something and fall behind? Is she simply bored with the subject? The approach I take with the child depends on the answers to these questions. I feel it is important for the learner to understand that there is a reason for making the effort to learn each subject.
