I hate lecturing! I do! This is why my tutoring style is very interactive. I don't like talking AT a person, I prefer to have a conversation. My goal as a tutor is to make subjects interesting, and also to make sure they stick- so you can do well on exams. I also teach study skills in every session, so ideally you won't have to rely on me forever. I try to give students tools that they can use to teach them how to teach themselves- something they'll have to do if they're considering college.

In college, the focus of my degree was creative writing and social action. I gained extensive experience researching, writing narrative and informative papers and determining how to use the information most effectively. My creative work has been presented locally and at international conferences. After finishing my BA in Human Communications, I realized I wanted a better education for my daughters than the local school district could provide. Teaching can be a most wonderful adventure. I believe every child can learn.
