I hate lecturing! I do! This is why my tutoring style is very interactive. I don't like talking AT a person, I prefer to have a conversation. My goal as a tutor is to make subjects interesting, and also to make sure they stick- so you can do well on exams. I also teach study skills in every session, so ideally you won't have to rely on me forever. I try to give students tools that they can use to teach them how to teach themselves- something they'll have to do if they're considering college.

I believe in a multi-sensory approach to learning. All children learn in their own way. My job as a teacher is to provide instruction in a way the child will learn best, whether that is through movement, audio, manipulative or visual cues. I understand that all children learn at their own pace and I am patient. Learning should also be relevant to a student's life.
