I haven't taught art before, but I have experience in it. I have had 3+ years in art courses in college. I have taken drama club as well as band and choir. I love art, and I was going to get a Bachelors Degree in Art history. I enjoy drawing and painting, and I love to sing. I was in my High Schools Drama Club as well as our Marching Band, and I fully support the arts. I believe art is a way for an individual to express themselves and branch out of their comfort zone.

I have mentored various people since 2000, in all types of subjects, including math, science, social sciences, English, writing, literature, and other related subjects. My academic record is very strong, and I believe empowering those I work with every single time. The only pre-requisites are that you have to be willing to learn, and learn how to learn.
I like to use the Socratic method, mainly by asking questions and challenging assumptions. In addition, I like to engage those I teach, challenging them to think about what they previously have not considered. I believe in building on successes, and offering constructive criticism, where appropriate.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have a BS in Cybernetics Engineering. As an engineer, my knowledge of math and physics is high. As a student I solved so many operations involving calculus that I memorized the formulas and used them as fast as the multiplication tables. I am a native Spanish speaker. I was trained as a language teacher by Berlitz, one of the best language centers in the world. I have a certificate in Drama. I worked for a private elementary school as a drama teacher for 2 years.
I enjoy teaching very much. I am a very patient person and more than teaching the students I like helping them figure things out by themselves. I always try to create "real life" situations for them to use the knowledge acquired instead of making them solve abstract operations.

I have worn many hats and done many things that all apply to the classroom and teaching young people. I believe that education is the key to life and living. But a person has to believe they can do it first and I believe everyone can learn and should be given the opportunity
I ask a lot of questions to get the students thinking. I believe in teaching young people and the adults I have worked with to think critically fist. Then I work with them on being able to articulate and write their ideas down...subject matter follows naturally if they have the confidence and can just think for themselves not just spit back facts and what others want to hear.
