I haven't taught art before, but I have experience in it. I have had 3+ years in art courses in college. I have taken drama club as well as band and choir. I love art, and I was going to get a Bachelors Degree in Art history. I enjoy drawing and painting, and I love to sing. I was in my High Schools Drama Club as well as our Marching Band, and I fully support the arts. I believe art is a way for an individual to express themselves and branch out of their comfort zone. I am a very laid back, I teach at a pace that is comfortable. I like to make learning fun, as I believe that Art should be.

I worked for a tutoring company in Georgia before moving back to North Carolina, and I had a high success rate--one high school student had a grade increase of 14 points in only two months.

Each person learns at an individual pace. I use the Gardner system of multiple intelligences to facilitate individual learning style. I do not believe something is impossible to learn, or unteachable. Patience is a moral and ethic rule with my personal professional style. I have worked with different levels of mental health and emotional maturity for several years. I have spent much of my spare time working within the community at youth centers, soup kitchens and veteran administration homes. I feel that working with many different types and levels of human functioning has enabled me to be more able to adjust my teaching and assisting styles to better serve my community.

I have been a teacher for 13 years. I started out in Huntsville, Alabama as a substitute teacher for grades K-12. I was a title I teacher for 2 years with 7th and 8th grade and 2nd grade. I was a classroom teacher for 4 years at Rolling Hills Elementary School. I was a 5th grade teacher for 2 years and a 1st grade teacher for 2 years. I then moved to Bay County, Florida. I taught 4 years in Bay County. I taught 5th grade for 2 years, 1st and 2nd grade. My last teaching position was at Breakfast Point Academy. Classroom teacher for 8 years. Title I teacher for 2 years Substitute teacher for 3 years I teach with a variety of styles. I do pre and post tests. I do DAR and JOHNS to assess their level. I use manipulatives to demonstrate hands on experience for Math.
