A Little Bit About Me...

I haven't taught art before, but I have experience in it. I have had 3+ years in art courses in college. I have taken drama club as well as band and choir. I love art, and I was going to get a Bachelors Degree in Art history. I enjoy drawing and painting, and I love to sing. I was in my High Schools Drama Club as well as our Marching Band, and I fully support the arts. I believe art is a way for an individual to express themselves and branch out of their comfort zone.
I am a very laid back, I teach at a pace that is comfortable. I like to make learning fun, as I believe that Art should be.

I have mentored various people since 2000, in all types of subjects, including math, science, social sciences, English, writing, literature, and other related subjects. My academic record is very strong, and I believe empowering those I work with every single time. The only pre-requisites are that you have to be willing to learn, and learn how to learn.
I like to use the Socratic method, mainly by asking questions and challenging assumptions. In addition, I like to engage those I teach, challenging them to think about what they previously have not considered. I believe in building on successes, and offering constructive criticism, where appropriate.

I have been a teacher for 13 years. I started out in Huntsville, Alabama as a substitute teacher for grades K-12. I was a title I teacher for 2 years with 7th and 8th grade and 2nd grade. I was a classroom teacher for 4 years at Rolling Hills Elementary School. I was a 5th grade teacher for 2 years and a 1st grade teacher for 2 years. I then moved to Bay County, Florida.
