As a graduate of an elite Independent High School, I strived to be the best at every subject I pursued in college. I started my Bachelors of Music as a Music Education major, but changed to Music Business in my sophomore year. Both of my majors gave me the knowledge skills to understand many different areas of the arts. I also excelled in my English classes, where I learned great skills in grammar, research papers, and sentence structure. Over the last five years I have tutored students in Music and English.

A Little Bit About Me...

Teaching has been a productive and varied part of my life. I've worked as a substitute for nearly 18 years(1974-1992) in the Champaign-Urbana area school districts in Illinois, as well as a private music instructor, and as a class guitar instructor before moving to Nashville in 1996. I've done in home tutoring for students that were homebound for various reasons. I have great communications skills either working one on one or, in a class environment and have developed extensive grammatical skills through the writing of various research papers as a part of both my musical and educational college backgrounds.

I attended Middle Tennessee State University from spring 1993-fall 1997, graduating in Dec. 1997 (B.S. degree). My major is art educ., my minor is secondary educ. My teaching license was in art educ./K-12. I was a member of The Gamma Beta Phi Society, the top 15% of my class. My gpa was 3.2 and I won two scholarships. I did my student teaching at the Lebanon High and at the Las Cassas Elementary Schools in fall 1997. I taught art at Mt. Juliet Elementary School, and taught private adult & children’s art classes at An Invitation to the Dance studio in Murfreesboro and at the Murfreesboro Art League.
