Experienced American Sign Language Tutor

I have 15+ years experience, as i was raised as a coda child in an all deaf family. I also have an extensive background in deaf culture, facial and body expressions, it is one of my most favorite part of the course to teach and learn. I am also starting my BA to become a Sign Language interpreter in spring 2015.

Sign Language is one of my top subjects! Currently, I am working as a community and educational interpreter. I completed an interpreter training program several years ago and have been signing for over 12 years.

Recently I have begun working as an American Sign Language instructor (adjunct professor) at a local community college and have been tutoring a variety of students outside of the classroom. In addition, I have been an interpreter for 5 years and have been signing for over 12 years. Originally, I learned ASL in Ohio and had to adjust to New Jersey regional signs. After deciding to become an interpreter, I attended classes at Union County College and Ocean County College. I am active in deaf coffee chats and meetups in northern and central New Jersey.
I am flexible. Sign language can only be learned through repetition and practice, so there will be a lot of voice-off communication exchanges. I'm good at helping people to learn sign language but just let you know that I learned English Sign Language but right now I'm ;earning ASL in college, ASL is my minor. ASL is so much easier for me cause ASL is almost similar to ESL but different grammar and also some different signs. I also want to become an ASL professor in future. I would make it very simple like the way I learned in past. I would tell the words first then finger spelling then show how to sign the words slowly.
