I was responsible for the 7th grade through pre-calculus courses at Wheatland Public Schools in Madrid Nebraska. This school was then combined into Grant Public Schools. I am also a strong technical trainer in my current role and provide necessary computer and analytical training to all new associates at the current company I work for.

I graduated with a Biopsychology degree or otherwise known as Behavioral Neuroscience. This degree enabled me to study organic and inorganic chemistry, biology (immunology, biochemistry etc.), math (statistics, calculus) and 1 year of physics. My favorite class, however, was a psychology class called learning and behavior. That class has honed my teaching skills and I enjoyed using those skills while tutoring adolescents in a wide variety of subjects, high school teenagers prep for the ACT exam, working as a teaching assistant for organic chemistry and tutoring an autistic child. I enjoy seeing expressions of accomplishment when students truly grasp various concepts. I expect and demand "excellence," recognizing that "excellence" is a term relative to the student. It seems to me that students retain information most successfully when it has been presented so as to be personally relevant, so I attempt to tailor examples to the student's background. Most of my experience has been as an engineer. I have worked on projects in Europe, Asia, and all over North America. I got involved tutoring high school students while my sons were in high school. Recently, I completed an MA in Education, and taught science and math for about a year and a half in a couple of Louisiana High Schools. Mathematics and Statistics are areas of study that have followed me throughout my life, from competition in MathCounts in Kansas and finishing 25th in the state, to scoring 35's twice on the Mathematics section of the ACT twice, but more importantly in tutoring my peers and other students younger than me in high school on a variety of relevant curriculum.
