I try to me more personable than most instructors. Many students simply need another approach to a subject to understand the material. I actively find that perfect approach for an individual student. I have taught and tutored since I was sixteen. I currently teach for USC, a few online universities, Syl. Learning Center, and am a Professional Writing Tutor. I teach all grades and university levels, but my specialties are AP Courses and university courses. I have worked with many children and adolescents, for the past 8 years, mentoring and tutoring. I enjoy teaching and do my best to make learning fun and easy for my pupils. I approach lessons by letting the student realize how and why the lesson is important and how it relates to their lives. I firmly believe everyone can learn; the style in which they learn may differ from others, but given the correct approach, all teachers/tutors can be successful. With my Bachelor's degree, I began tutoring through Reading Success and conducted private tutoring of Georgia History. I progressed to teaching English, Spanish, and some Special Education Resource classes at the High School level, and continued to teach lower level English classes at a local college along with reading in an Adult Continuing Education program through another college. I tend towards a style of teaching that is animated yet personable; I firmly believe that quality instruction should be interesting and invigorating while providing a student with comprehensive knowledge of the curriculum. Jokes are not out of place, but the primary focus is on the subject matter, of course. I am particularly concerned in my classes not only with helping students to learn the material itself, but also with helping them develop strategies for learning the information.
