Experience Summary
Since elementary school, I have known the value of a good education and I have always had a strong drive and love for learning. I have earned a bachelor's degree in Exercise and Sports Science and a master's degree in Applied Exercise Physiology, which has allowed me to attain knowledge in diverse areas of science. Also, I have acquired extensive composition skills due to scientific research/laboratory reports, as well as essay assignments in my other areas of study. During the last five years I have taught collegiate classes, and for three years before that I volunteered my time at a church outreach group in tutoring elementary and high school children in English, mathemathics, and various sciences.
Teaching Style
I love working with children of all ages. I understand that all children have a different way of learning, which does not make them "special", but unique as individuals. I am very patient, considerate, and understanding of each child's differences. My aim is to provide a safe atmosphere for each child so that they know they are not being judged for what they do not know, but are being praised for their uniqueness, perseverence, and innate intellegence. I believe that given the proper opportunities, every child can discover a love for learning, despite any setbacks they might have had previously. I also believe that one great teacher can make a difference in a child's life; I would love to be that teacher for as many students as I can.
