My comments on tutoring Saxophone : Music studio offering clarinet, saxophone, flute, trumpet, and recorder lessons taught by the Principal Clarinetist of the Livingston Symphony Orchestra.

For the past twenty years, Dimitry has been teaching students of all ages to play the clarinet, saxophone, flute, trumpet, and recorder. Students will learn proper techniques, posture, breathing, phrasing, articulation, tone, rhythm, sight reading, solfeggio, music theory, and music history. They will also learn to play solos (with and without accompaniment), as well as duets (along with the instructor). Private lessons are customized to meet each student's goals, such as preparation for regional and state band auditions, concerts, and other music competitions.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have been playing music my whole life. I began playing piano at six years old, saxophone at ten, bass guitar at thirteen, and guitar at fourteen. Throughout my high school career I played a variety of rock band gigs on guitar, bass, and keyboards; I also played a variety of jazz gigs on saxophone. Currently I am a music student at William Paterson University, and am graduating this May with a degree in Jazz Saxophone Performance.
My teaching style varies from student to student based on playing level, musical interests, and personality. I use a mix of method books and aural learning techniques. The student's musical priorities always come first!

Although I have only held my BM in Music Education for a little over a year, I have always sought out opportunities to hone my skills as a teacher. While I was still earning that degree, I was the person many of my peers approached to help them understand music theory when they were stuck. None of them failed their tests after a few extra lessons with me. Since graduating, I have been working at a special education school as a one on one aide, and I am constantly making effort to coax out the musical side of my students, often with positive and exciting results.
