Awesome Chemistry Tutor

I am a huge proponent of active learning. I engage the student in solving problems, taking notes, and reviewing past work (tests, quizzes, labs, and homework). I am a helping and caring teacher. I want my students to do well and we use the entire tutoring time to make that happen.
I received training as a chemist from both Franklin and Marshall and UW-Madison. I enjoy researching and solving chemistry problems. I have experience making creative lessons, practice questions, and giving good analogies for learning chemistry. I am a teacher at a local high school and I enjoy giving back to the community. I taught one year at Zionsville Community High School, where I taught Algebra I, Prealgebra, and Basic Math. I currently teach at Tri-Central High School, where I have been for nine years. I teach AP Calculus AB, Precalculus, and Geometry. I have also taught Algebra I at Tri-Central. I have had experience tutoring, both in high school and college. I have tutored students for many of the college science classes. I have also been a tutor for an elementary school in Bloomington. I am also an experienced test prep tutor, having helped students prepare for everything from class tests to the GED, SAT, and ACT.
I have learned that the best way to teach is to let the student know how much you enjoy the subject and then work to make them feel the same way.
