Teacher with gentle touch - Very good at explaining new subj

I try to find the teaching style that is going to work for the student. Are they visual? Do they need to touch to learn? Finding out how to teach them and then helping them learn skills for independent study are just as important as the material.

As an undergraduate tutoring math, I realized quickly that I had a gift to explain math and make it easy for others to understand. My college professors asked me on several occasions to teach there class when they could not be there to teach. This experience inspired me to become a teacher. During my doctoral studies at UCSD, I began to tutor professionally as a way to earn extra income. It seemed like a logical choice for a part-time job as I had been helping friends with homework for almost as long as I could remember.
