My comments on tutoring Composition : I have a BA in English with a minor in Journalism.

I like to present information in a way that immediately engages the student and makes him or her want to learn. I have a great sense of humor and like to make learning fun. I give the student the information, help him or her process the information, answer any questions and make sure he or she understands by performing the task involved.
For the past 23 years, I have been working with the Testing Program for the state of North Carolina. I'm currently the English Content Specialist for Grades 3 and 4 Reading. I 19 and have an Associate in Science and an Associate in Arts. I have been taking college classes since I was a Jr in High School , and I have been tutoring my friends and younger relatives since the 6th grade. I have tutored subjects ranging from linear algebra to college calculus. I have never done formal tutoring ,and I think the most I have ever been paid for my tutoring services was a meal at cookout.

Changing The World, One Child AT A Time

I was an assistant teacher to a 3rd grade class at Wilson's Mills Elementary from 2001 until 2003. My duties included assisted the teacher and helping the students in a manner to help them learn at their pace. And I also have an 8 year old son who attends River Dell Elementary. Making Learning Fun and Easy!

My teaching style is to move at the students pace - however slowly or quickly that may be. I don't mind being asked the same questions. In fact, I believe that there is no such thing as a bad question, and that a student should ask a question as many times as s/he feels it is necessary to do so.

FIrst I figure out what the problem is student's approach to answering a question or studying a concept. I look to see what they know and if I notice something missing in their understanding I'll fill in that "gap" by showing them a more easier or revealing process to answering a question. Composition is one of my top subjects! I taught 9th and 7th grade writing and speech. We explored biograpahies, research papers, and expository writing.

I have a Bachelors Degree from the Univerity of Minnesota where I obtained my secondary teaching license. I taught ninth grade English for eight years in Morris, Minnesota and focused heavily on writing, grammar, speech and the Renaissance.
