When I entered college I was immediately drawn to tutor my peers as needed. I worked with the single mom's program at IVC and also did job coaching for the City of Long Beach Disabled program. Once I graduated from college I had the opportunity to join the Boys & Girls Clubs, specifically designing educational and technology programs. I enjoyed tutoring about 50 youth a day. As a result some parents requested that I run a special off hours program at their middle school to tutor the ADHD kids. Every child in that program raised their grades 60% over the course of the semester. Since that time I have honed the methods I have created to work with the "hard to reach" kids and have had tremendous success.

After I transferred to CSU Stanislaus, I worked both at the tutoring center and for a state program that placed me in one of the local high schools to work with groups of seniors with low math scores in order to help improve their SAT scores. After graduation, I was hired as a substitute teacher. However, the classroom setting was not as enjoyable as tutoring. A Little Bit About Me...

I believe there are multiple learning styles. One of my goals as a teacher is to find each students' learning style and teach to fit their needs. I believe that practice makes perfect but also that learning needs to be fun. I set the bar high for my students and do my best to help motivate them to reach a high standard.
In college I was a nanny to three middle school students for two years. While being their nanny I was also their tutor in all subjects but focused on math. I graduated from SJSU with a major in History and a minor in Mathematics. I substitute taught in January and February 2007 then was a long-term substitute from March until the end of May in a sixth grade math, science, and history combination class.
