A Little Bit About Me...

Prior to earning my degree in education, I was a sign language interpreter for the Deaf. I noticed that Deaf students were not getting an adequate education so I decided to finish my degree so that I would have the ability to have more influence with my student's ability to be successful regardless of their disability. I earned my BA in education with an endorsement in English. I have also had additional education in the area of Diversity and experience in working with special needs students. I am a recent college graduate with a bachelor's degree in TESOL. While a senior in college, I taught an intermediate ESL class for a semester and thoroughly enjoyed it. I also minored in Business/Office Administration and took specialized classes in Windows Vista and Microsoft Office programs. My first language is Spanish, my second language is English. I grew up in Ecuador for 28 years and when I got married, I moved to the States. I majored in Special Education while in my home country and Special Education became my profession. When I came to the states I realised I had to take the GACE exam in order to be a teacher here along with SPANISH test, so I did exactly that and became a teacher in Peach County teaching Spanish I and II.
