A Little Bit About Me...

I use all methods of second language acquisition in my teaching. Most of the exercises I use to help beginning are communicative methods. It's better to get them speaking and writing and build their confidence than to just use rote memorization or drills. If I think the audio-lingual method will help a more advanced student, I suggest and practice this method with them. If reading in the language with the translation side by side helps, we will practice that. I bear all forms of cognitive learning in mind when tutoring a student. I strive to help in whatever way I can.

I love to see kids learning a second language. I realise today in the states there is such much more job opporuntities when you have a second language. I make my own classroom a fun learning experience. I try to make fun sayings and even songs so the kids can relate to the words or sentences I am trying to teach them. I like to tell my own personal experiences of my life growing up in a country that speaks Spanish.
