A Little Bit About Me...

I realize that, in order for a student to want to learn, the subject must be presented to them in an interesting way. I know I have the ability to make the subject relative to the child in a way that is both easy-to-understand, yet effective. I am extremely patient, enthuastic, and truly love the subject of English. The idea of helping a child who struggles with English or just doesn't like it in general appeals to me greatly. I honestly believe that every single child has the capability to learn and excel in any subject, when given the right guidance and tools.

Both of my parents were teachers so education is very important to me. My experience in teaching ranges from working with elementary children as a teacher's assistant to being an Adult Education Instructor. I worked with 3rd graders who were low in math and reading for about 3 years. My greatest challenge and motivation came from assisting all ages in their quest for improved reading skills or a GED. This was over a time span of 15 years. I am always available to help anyone with their writing projects. I love to work with words and create something that is pleasing to read or easy to understand.
