A Little Bit About Me...

I earned both my Bachelor's of Arts in English and my Master's of Science in Public Relations from the University of Southern Mississippi. While at USM, I served as the Assistant to the Graduate Reader as a graduate student, where my job was to proof graduate and Ph.D. students' theses and dissertations. This job, in particular, helped me become extremely familiar with APA and MLA formatting, as well as everyday grammar and word usage. I also took a number of education classes while persuing my Bachelor's degree.
I realize that, in order for a student to want to learn, the subject must be presented to them in an interesting way. Both of my parents were teachers so education is very important to me. My experience in teaching ranges from working with elementary children as a teacher's assistant to being an Adult Education Instructor. I worked with 3rd graders who were low in math and reading for about 3 years. My greatest challenge and motivation came from assisting all ages in their quest for improved reading skills or a GED.
