I began playing piano at the age of 5. At 13 I started teaching piano in Hawaii Kai at the request of neighbors and the business has continued all these years. One of my former students is a police office now, one is a prosecuting attorney, one sailed on the Hokulea. I have great pride in feeling that my small role as a teacher helped steer them towards a successful career. We all know that music instruction helps students do better at school. Some of the most sought after surgeons in Hawaii are classically trained concert pianists. Students don't need to invest in a piano, a keyboard from Costco does just fine. I use a basic piano method (or books you may have on hand from previous lessons) and supplement the lesson with music of your choosing: show tunes, tv themes, you name it. Hi! I'm Brian and my artist name is Lovejack! Thanks for checking out my page. I mostly teach pop/contemporary voice, songwriting, music production AND violin, viola, cello. I've got a long history with my band Streetlight Cadence, most notably I'm an Emmy-nominated Producer for our TV show Will Play For Food. Learning is Always New

I've taught creative writing to Japanese university students in English only (songs, stories and poetry) for two years, and ESL to all ages in Japanese society for 22 years. In America, I taught freshman public speaking, composition, and literature at the university level. My students have gone on to top-level universities, and placed first in prefectural level speech competitions.
