I am by nature an encourager. I am optimistic every child can learn -- the trick is to spark an interest in the subject and communicate the material to them in an understandable way. Learning at its best should be fun and educational, though not necessarily entertaining. Having said that, there are no shortcuts for hardwork and homework and repetitions on problem solving.

I have a direct and simple teaching method. I love teaching physics and it always came naturally to me but I understand that most people do not feel the same way. I try to help students gain a deep understanding of the subject matter so that the principles and concepts are learnt and not simple formula memorizing. I begin by observing the person. In which areas are they confident and strong? In which areas are they fearful and using avoidance? I then find a bridge from their place of confidence to their place of fear and coax them across until they are happily skipping across.
