I have degrees in Physics and Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech. I have spent 18 years in mentoring, supervising, and leading others in technical manufacturing. Most recently, I am teaching middle and high school science -- 6th, 7th, 9th, 10th, 11th & 12th. This includes physical science, biology, chemistry & physics.
I am an optimist in the classroom. All kids can learn but only if they want to and the proper language is used to communicate. I use an encouraging, cooperative method to gradually uncovering the essence of the plan. I will not move on until they 'get it'. I have been pursuing a lateral teaching entry position, while substituting. I am mentoring with a local teacher and have finished a course in effective teaching. I am by nature an encourager. I am optimistic every child can learn -- the trick is to spark an interest in the subject and communicate the material to them in an understandable way. I then find a bridge from their place of confidence to their place of fear and coax them across until they are happily skipping across.
