A Little Bit About Me...

I have taught both adults and youth. I was instrumental in assisting adults in obtaining their high school diploma and college degree. As a youth teacher, I was responsible for teaching students to read and as a result of their improving in this area; I was promoted to a teacher’s position. I have tutored students on an individual basis, and a result they were able to be promoted to the next grade.
My style of teaching is more of a participant style. I enjoy when students contribute to class discussions. It brings joy to my heart when a child finds a task complicated and eventually succeeds. My comments on tutoring American History : From the founding of the Colonies at Jamestown through current history-making events, students of American History will explore where the nation began, and how it has grown into what is is today.

I had always wanted to be a teacher. I taught for 13 years in the Mobile County Public School System at one school. I then took time off to raise my children. I worked for 12 years at St. Luke's Episcopal School teaching English and History. My next assignment was with Cottage Hill Christian Academy for nine years.
