All throughout high school I tutored younger kids with homework or specific needs in classes. I'm very flexible and very hands-on with my teaching. As a visual learner, it helps me to have a visual aid whenever I can and I employ that in my teaching. My strategy is to make learning fun for the students. I believe learning should be fun and creative and that children should have an environment that is friendly and caring to learn in. I think teachers should be patient with their difficulties and take time to give them the one on one attention that they need. I like thematic units and hands on activities. As stated above, I believe the keys to successful training and tutoring is through repetition. I expect a great deal from each student, because I am convinced that we all have the capacity to learn. I feel that the role of a tutor is to facilitate the learning of the student; whereas his or her teacher has the role to teach.
