I really like working with children from low income families. I think each child has a different interest and way of learning. I try to discover these learning styles before I begin the tutoring process. I try to allow them to be comfortable and having fun during our sessions. Most of the time I do a lot of question/conversation responses to allow them to find the answer for themselves. I like a problem based learning style, even for the youngest of children. As a graduate of the University of Florida, I studied Physics and played football as well. Earning a Bachelors degree in Physics, I studied all levels of Calculus, Differential equations, linear algebra, thermal physics, electromagnetism, chemistry 1 and 2, mechanics, quantum mechanics, and many other classes. Therefore, I am very skilled in the areas of math and science.
I am more capable as a teacher and mentor to students in middle school and high school. While I have a lot of experience with elementary students, I find my best impact on middle and high school students.
