A Little Bit About Me...

I am a graduate of the University of Florida and have been fortunate enough to excel in school throughout my life. I started tutoring in middle school and continued throughout my college career. I earned my bachelors degree in Accounting so I would like to believe my education is well-rounded. My favorite/strongest subject is math but am versatile in all subject areas. I relate well with children as I have two younger siblings (high school and middle school) that I often tutor as well.
I tend to use a hands on approach to teaching. I put learning in the perspective of the students life into an experience that he/she can relate to. A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated from Davidson College with a major in economics, which has enabled me to gain an understanding of both math and social science. I tutored during my junior and senior years in North Carolina and I've also done private tutoring in Gainesville. In addition, I coached 4-12 year olds how to swim. If I can teach 4 year olds who are screaming and kicking how to swim I can teach someone math or ecnomoics.
I really enjoy teaching all ages. From my background in coaching young children how to swim I've become well adjusted to dealing with difficult situatioins in a learning environment. However, I always want to provide my students with the best learning environment possible. I'm extremely patient and I believe that a teacher should be willing to do whatever is possible to help their students understand the material and learn.

I love seeing people understand something once I explain it to them in a way that they can understand it. I also love working with kids and teenagers because I believe that if we have a positive influence on young people they will grow up to be the leaders that our nation needs. My teaching style is geared at making people think. Students don't learn when they are spoon fed their education but when they are lead in the correct direction.
I am currently enrolled in the graduate engineering program at the University of Florida, in which I plan to graduate in the spring of 2012.
