Musical is one of my top subjects! I have been involved with learning and playing music for 25 years and have several years of theory training. I understand how music is put together and would love to share my knowledge with you.

I started playing music in 5th grade with the clarinet and school band. I graduated 1st chair in high school band and was playing the guitar in jazz band. I love teaching children and being able to see them learn. It is awesome to see and hear when they finally "get it" or when they understand something that I taught them. Moreover, when a student gives you an answer to a question and uses an example of something that you taught them earlier, it really shows you how quickly they can pick things up. My teaching "style" is very open--I will have an outline and while I am presenting I will sometimes ask for examples from the students to help get us through the outline together. You can't speak AT them; you have to involve the students in what you are teaching them.
