I believe in life long learning and I encourage children to apply themselves to do their very best.I also encourage children to determine what their best learning style is and to apply their learning style to fit their specific needs. For example some children require a more sequential repetitive approach to learning. My first major mentoring/teaching experience occurred in college when I began leading study groups and eventually organizing tutoring sessions with a number of my fellow English, Calculus, and Physics students. I then obtained a position as a youth counselor with the YMCA and quickly moved up to Site Coordinator where I was in charge of my own after school care group, including being in charge of organizing activities and managing youth counselors. Most recently I underwent PADI Divemaster training where I had real world experience teaching and assisting PADI Open Water students with classroom, confined water, and open water training.
