I was the first one in my family to graduate from college. My parents did not have the great opportunity that I did and were only able to complete elementary school. After earning my BS in Biological Sciences from UC Santa Barbara, I decided to live abroad in South America as a Peace Corps Volunteer to help others and put what I learned to practical use.
