I love teaching people of all ages. My easy going demeanor and enthusiastic attitude have allowed me to make a strong connection with all my students. This connection is crucial because I have a what I believe is a traditional teaching style which emphasizes organization and analytical skills through constant and sustained practice. After college I went to Europe to earn an MA in Linguistics. A Little Bit About Me...

I went from the Boston Public Schools to Commonwealth School and then Wellesley College, and would have been lost, early on, without help from tutors. I majored in English and Russian and work with several communities for whom English is not their first language. I am also a freelance writer and editor and I help my children's friends with their college essays. I work as a substitute teacher with all levels and grades and teach everything but Science and Gym.
I am patient and approachable but insist on the value of completing assignments even if the student "hates" them. I am good at explaining how this will be important later, which turns around reluctant learners. Being a mother of three adult children and a new grandmother, I adore children. Teaching Sunday School over many years has also brought me great joy.
