I graduated in 1984 from CSUF with a Bachelor in Music Education and my emphasis was piano. I took piano lessons from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music as a child and progressed this into my college years. I tutored adults in piano while studing for my bachelors. I learned that I enjoyed teaching younger students in private lessons. After my degree, I moved back to San Francisco and began to teach young children in their homes. Life took a twist, I got married and moved to another state, had two children who are grown now. I loved to teach so I recieved my early childhood education credential and taught pre-k and even Kindergarten for many years. As a recent college graduate, I was motivated to study Physics because I find the fundamental nature of the physical world fascinating. In addition to my B.S. in Physics, I also minored in Religious Studies and this course of study has enabled me to understand and communicate with people from a variety of different backgrounds. When I wasn’t in class I spent nearly 3 years doing particle physics research for CERN’s Large Hadron Collider, which I would work at in Geneva Switzerland during the summer. During my four years at college I have tutored students from a variety of different skill levels in several different physics courses, including Classical Mechanics, Optics, Electricity and Magnetism, and the Philosophy of Physics. Every student has a unique skill level and learning style, and I believe tutoring is an opportunity for me to help that student learn in his or her own unique way.

Since I have worked students with a wide variety of learning issues; I feel that I am well prepared to assess and deliver educational materials and instruction to any student. I understand that each student has his learning style and prefers specific modalities such as: games & puzzles, logical sequential, the arts, naturalistic, etc. Although those would not be the only modalities I would use to educate my students, I feel that I must acknowledge this and respond with a portion of the lessons directed at personal interest.
