Every student has a unique skill level and learning style, and I believe tutoring is an opportunity for me to help that student learn in his or her own unique way. I believe an engaged student will get the most out of tutoring, so I like to ask questions to check for understanding and I try to make the subject more interesting by highlighting the significance of what he or she is studying. One technique I often use is making summaries of concepts and procedures that the student can refer to when answering similar problems in homework or reviewing before a test. I love to teach. A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated in 1984 from CSUF with a Bachelor in Music Education and my emphasis was piano. I took piano lessons from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music as a child and progressed this into my college years. I tutored adults in piano while studing for my bachelors. I learned that I enjoyed teaching younger students in private lessons. After my degree, I moved back to San Francisco and began to teach young children in their homes. Life took a twist, I got married and moved to another state, had two children who are grown now. I loved to teach so I recieved my early childhood education credential and taught pre-k and even Kindergarten for many years.
