During my research-based M.Sc. study in Microbiology, I TA'ed three undergraduate courses (General Biology & Introduction to Microbiology). Over the years, I have become more aware of myself so that I can learn more efficiently. I scored well on my ACT (33) and my GRE (the grad school equivalent of the SAT - 690 for verbal, 740 for quantitative), and was able to attend well-regarded schools for my scientific training. My approach to teaching biological and chemical sciences is two-pronged: to help students acquire the knowledge base necessary for understanding science, and to instill critical thinking skills through the scientific method of inquiry. I love to help students see the big picture of how various aspects of science fit together and to make connections between what they are learning and their own lives.
