I started preparing to teach when I came to the United States right after high school from a country with a language other than English by learning English; I then had the opportunity to attend college for a short while and then teach my own children -they were home-taught up to tenth grade. I worked as a teacher assistant for about six months and as a substitute teacher for about ten years.
