Specifically, my style is to instruct verbally, asking you to take notes for certain points that may be more difficult for your reference later. I do not instruct on the computer, rather working with you and pointing out skills or techniques you then do yourself on your computer. This speeds the memory/learning process for the student, you retain the process faster by executing the skills yourself rather than 'watching' them be done. I double majored in Biology and English with a Bachelor of Science degree from a very well known, highly esteemed University in Wisconsin. I went to Taiwan for two months from March-May 2010 and helped teach in a "Bushiban" or cram school to kids aged 6-15. I am currently looking for a full-time job relating to my degree.
Conversational. From what I learned in Taiwan little kids are not for me. This is the truth. Kids at about 14 or 15 and older are much preferred. I don't think I am animated enough for younger children...well, not a GROUP of younger children anyway. When it comes to one on one though, it is much different I am sure. I like to give ideas on how to sound out words, remember grammar/math tricks and things like that.

I love working with children, especially the ones who have a disability because every child deserves an education not matter what. I have two disabled children myself and they bring me much joy in my life. Every child in this world have the potential to success and discovery their own hidden talents. A Little Bit About Me...

As a graduate of Sociology I have gained a lot of knowledge about how society functions. I was interested in this area of study to understand peoples because I have always had compassion for others. I have participated in a 4 unit class where i taught Spanish to 8-11 year old children and it consisted of developing a plan that included songs and dancing to learn Spanish in a fun and animated way. I have done research on homelessness, and had an internship with a non profit that provides social services for those in need. Working closely with this organization has helped me assess peoples needs and use problem solving skills to help individuals in a variety of situations.
