Ahrend R. Torrey is a Mississippi spiritual poet- painter. His poetry relates to nature and spirituality but most of all life and what he experiences through his life journey. Writing is one of the least liked abilites of people, yet it is one of the most important! I like to write. So much expression and skills can be gained through writing. Although challenging at times, the skill can be developed to proficiency. I taught English for a few years and really enjoyed teaching the students about the world of writing. I specialized in the four types of writing: Narrative, Descriptive, Expository, and Persuasive. I also strongly believe in developing strong grammar skills because they comprise well written wrting pieces. Once a student feels confident in his/her writing and speaking skills, the sky becomes the limit.

I believe learning should be fun and creative and that children should have an environment that is friendly and caring to learn in. Being a college graduate, I am also very skilled in the fundamentals of reading and writing. Since I graduated I have been working as a Behavior Consultant for children with developmental disabilities.
